Food Donation and Ice Skating
Join us on the evening of February 2, 2026, for a night of fellowship, winter fun, and giving back.
We’ll gather at Wesley Park in Golden Valley for ice skating and community connection, while collecting food donations for the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf.
Skating is optional, what matters most is showing up for our neighbors. We’ll have hot beverages, a fire, and s’mores to enjoy throughout the evening, so come bundled up and stay awhile. The warming house will be open till 8:00pm.
Bring a food donation, bring a friend, and help us support our community.

Low-Pet Law-Pet Challenge
Looking for a fun winter challenge?? Grab your skis or fat-bike and come on out to the "Low-pet Law-pet" challenge. Formerly known as the pre-loppet.
There are multiple ski races to choose from as well as one fat bike race. Whether you are looking to beat a personal record, or just have fun with some friends, this is the place to be. You will also have an enthusiastic Jack Pine cheering squad!

A Word on Bikes
To preserve the trails, participants must use only fat bikes defined as bikes with 3.8” tires or more and less than 10 psi tire pressure.

Cuyuna Fat Bike Ride
Sorry for this being so last Minute!
We are going to be meeting at the Yurt at Cuyuna Parking lot, or Yawkey Unit at 10am. Reports are that the trails are firm and rolling fast! With the freeze/thaw conditions as of late studded tires would not be a bad idea if you have them.
If you are wanting to car-pool from the metro, Carl has room for one more bike and person. Message us or call/text 612-361-6902 if you want a ride up there.

Thanksgiving River Walk.

We will be meeting the morning of Thanksgiving 11/27 at 9:00-11:00am for a walk along the MN river bottoms. We will be starting at the Old Cedar Bridge in East Bloomington and doing an out-and-back hike across the bridge and along the river. The duration of the walk can be adjusted if people have holiday plans to get to.
We will be serving Duluth Coffee Company coffee at the trailhead (not a sponsor, we are just huge fans). Grab a cup from us or bring a thermos to enjoy as we take our morning stroll.
Pets are also welcome at Jack Pine Events if the location permits it!
Thursday Night Lights- Elm Creek Park Reserve
This is the last chance to join us for a Thursday Night Lights hike this November! This week we will be at Elm Creek Park Reserve, meeting at the chalet parking lot in the winter recreation area. Come thirsty for cider or bring your favorite hot beverage. We will be walking a loop of the Northern Lights Trail. We will be leaving the parking lot a 7:00pm.

Thursday Night Lights- Clifton E French Park
Time for another lighted fall hike! This week are are visiting French Park and hiking the Lagoon and Lakeview trails. These trails are mostly grass and dirt with some mild-moderate elevation changes.

Thursday Night Lights- Hyland Park
We will be taking a stroll around Hyland Lake under the lights of the cross country ski trail! Join us for this unique fall experience. We will leave the parking lot a little after 7:00pm. It’s an easy hike on mostly wood-chip trails. The forecast looks dry and temps estimated to be in the upper 30’s so dress accordingly!
Supporters, loved ones, and pets are all welcome! Bring a thermos of your favorite hot beverage or grab a cup of cider at the trailhead from us.

Westwood Hills Nature Center Hike- Fall color and wildlife viewing
Join Jack Pine Outdoors for a scenic hike at Westwood Nature Center in St. Louis Park, MN. The hike will begin at 10:00am. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and dress for fall temperatures. Westwood Nature Center is known for its abundant wildlife, including turkey, waterfowl, and deer. Feel free to bring binoculars to get a closer look at the wildlife. Please note that pets are not allowed at Westwood. We look forward to exploring nature with you!

Fall colors Birdwatching Hike at Tamarack Nature Center
Join us for a guided birdwatching and nature hike led by Rebecca Wandrei from Adventure Within LLC. We will hike a leisurely 1.75 mile loop through forest, prairie, and wetland habitats while spotting migrating songbirds and waterfowl. The trail is mostly level and unpaved with boardwalks in the wet areas.
Tamarack Nature Center's building will be open and has restrooms, water fountains, and exhibits. Tamarack also features the fabulous Discovery Hollow Nature Play Area. Kids, supporters, and loved ones are welcome! We recognize that recovery impacts more than ourselves and want to include those who support us.
Please wear comfortable shoes or boots for walking and weather appropriate clothes as we will hike rain or shine. Suggested items to bring are a water bottle, sunscreen, and binoculars. We have a few extra pairs of binocs for folks to use as well, but if you have extras to share, please bring them as well! Tamarack Nature Center does not allow pets on its grounds, so please leave your furry friends at home for this event.

Elm Creek Mountain Biking
Leaving Lot 10:00am
We are going to try this one again and hope for the weather to cooperate!
Join us on the Morning of September 21th for a lap of the Elk Creek mountain bike trail system. We will meet starting in the MTB parking lot off of Hayden Lake Rd and depart at 10am.
This will be an all skill levels event however previous mountain biking experience is preferred as there can be some rough terrain on the trail. The trail system is rated as a Green/Blue (easy to moderate) difficulty. We will be going at an easy pace taking breaks at intersections for water and chit chat. Expect the ride to last 2 hours to cover the 8-10 miles.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!

We will have extra water, tools, pump, in case you are in need of these things at the trail head.
There will be snacks, beverages, and fellowship following the ride in the parking lot.

Battle Creek Walk/Hike
Battle Creek Regional Park, 210 Battle Creek Pk Entrance Rd, St Paul, MN 55106
We will be taking a stroll along the creek on the Point Douglas Trail at Battle Creek Regional Park. We will be departing from the lower Battle Creek lot that is off the frontage road that runs along HWY 10/61
This is an easy paved route following the creek with the opportunity to explore some of the sandstone formations at the bottom of the trail.
Feel free to bring along supporters, loved ones, and leashed pets. We recognize that recovery impacts more than ourselves and want to include those who support us!
We will have water and snacks available if you forgot to bring a water bottle.
